Although Shanghainese women have a reputation for being ruthless gold diggers, Shanghai is still a great place to meet honest and caring women, since its economical success has attracted millions of young girls from around China. 1. English corner at People’s Square
This a great buzzing place especially during the weekends. It is common to see elders there trying to match up their children, but it is also a popular place for foreigners to meet strangers. Locals go there to practice English, so if you show up as a foreigner you’ll quickly gather a flock of Chinese conversationalists ranging in age from small primary school kids to octogenarian professors. Many of these locals are actually single women, who probably won’t hesitate to give you their number if you play your cards right.
2. English courses
If you are not up for a stroll around the park, then consider showing up at one of Shanghai’s many english schools. You will always find women there who would appreciate a free cup of coffee and a chance to exchange ideas with a foreigner. This would probably be every other man’s first pick when looking for girls. Xitiandi is an affluent part of Shanghai with many bars, restaurants and galleries. This is the place where a lot of Shanghai’s high society hangs out these days and it gives you a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the hottest girls in town. Chic bars like Dr. Bar or more crowded establishments like Rendzvous would probably be amongst your best bet. In all cases if your evil plan backfires, then pray that it’s a Wednesday. In this case, just jump in the first cab you can find and head over to ladies night at Zapatas.
