We find these upsetting places from the satellite photos, all are obvious scenes of real estate bubbles in China: the city streets are empty and almost no people, government buildings are extremely magnificent, some cities are even built in a completely barren land which are unsuitable for human habitation. 1. Ordos 鄂尔多斯

Ordos is China’s most famous ghost city. Except for cars parked in front of the grand government buildings, the city streets are almost empty.

Erdos even has avant-garde art gallery, unfortunately it is empty.

2. Zhengzhou New District 郑州新区

Zhengzhou New District is another ghost town located in central China.

The $19 billion new district is full of empty blocks of apartments.

Grand government buildings in Zhengzhou New District are comparable to that of Erdos.

3. Erenhot 二连浩特

Erenhot in Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is completely built on a desert.

Half of the city is empty, the other half is still under construction.

4. Dantu 丹徒区

Dantu District in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province has been empty for over 10 years.

A large portion of the town has no cars and no people.

 5. Bayannao’er 巴彦淖尔

Bayannao’er, situated in the western side of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is almost an empty city. The city has a beautiful town hall as well as the World Bank-funded water cycle building.
