Dai Haifei, 24 years old, just graduated six months ago. Now with his company’s design he made a “egg” house with bamboo as his dwelling house. His company is located in a large courtyard on Chengfu Rd, Haidian, northwest of Beijing. District Downstairs the company building a hut stands on the lawn like a giant egg. Daihai Fei’s hometown is in countryside of Shaoyang, Hunan Province, His father works at construction sites and the mother is a cleaner in a company. Dai graduated from Hunan University, and find a Beijing-based architectural design company from internet, first he did internships and later worked in the company after graduate. He said his parents were old, but still on the run, hoping to save money to marry wife for him, “They do not know with their wages now they will have to work two or three hundred years to buy a house in Beijing.”

At the beginning of this year in the company’s “Biennial” a design called “the city’s egg” was displayed, It is a movable egg-shaped cabin. “I want to build my own house; the design fits well with my request.” Dai said, he decided to build a house with this concept.
Subsequently, Dai borrowed about 6,400 Yuan (About USD1000) from his cousin and bought materials, and then It took a couple of months to make the egg-shaped cabin with classmates` help. After National Holiday Dai spent more than 3,000 Yuan transporting it from home to the downstairs company.
During the daytime, he works and studies until 0:00, and then go downstairs into the cabin to sleep, he gets up at 8 am and the upstairs is the company. Just after enter the winter the house becomes more and more cold, At night only about 3-4℃. “I have a battery, one charge each month from the company; I will use a electric blanket.”
“Although no rent, I am a moonlight group, but my life quality improves a lot.” Dai said, he had lived in the small room for nearly two months, because there is no rent to pay, and now he can go for a coffee occasionally to enjoy the “petty bourgeoisie life.”.
Dai said his house had been driven by the property company, but because no place to move, eventually they let the matter rest. Although he thought to have a house to get married, but now he enjoys life in the “eggshell”.
